On July 28, 2022, Miranda Sex Garden played a magical gig at the 100 Club, London, for their first public performance since 2000. Of course, Trevor Sharpe, who's been with the band since 1992, was there. The drumming prodigy he is reined in his demons in a glorious racket.

Best Of collection


To mark the 10 years since their first album, The Servant will be releasing a digital "Best Of" collection on September 8, 2014. The compilation will feature "Away", an unreleased track recorded with producer Jim Lowe (Stereophonics, The Charlatans). The song was played live only a few times late 2005-early 2006 under the title “Blow”.

The French Servant Fan Club

The French Servant Fan Club is a non-profit group, existing to bring Servant fans together, provide them with exclusive info, permit them to share their interest in The Servant, and promote the band throughout France and the rest of the world. It is endorsed by The Servant and the band's management.
The French Servant Fan Club publishes a fanzine containing articles about The Servant in both French and English. This paper publication is mailed to members of the fan club. It contains lots of exclusive info you can’t read anywhere else, loads of quality photos including a double-page centrefold, and contests offering winners the chance to receive signed CDs, rare stuff on DVDs, and much more.

How To Destroy A Relationship, The Servant's much-anticipated second album, was released in France, Italy and Switzerland on October 2nd, 2006.

Trois ans après l’éclatant succès du single "Orchestra" et de leur album éponyme, The Servant reviennent avec un deuxième opus chiadé à souhait, riche et grisant. Produit par Jim Lowe (Stereophonics, The Charlatans) et mixé aux prestigieux Town House Studios de Londres, How To Destroy A Relationship épate d’emblée par le soin apporté aux arrangements et à la production. Ses onze titres constituent autant de petites pierres précieuses parfaitement ciselées aux formes et couleurs variées. Car l’autre atout de cet album réside justement dans la diversité de ses compositions. En effet, HTDAR propose une étonnante panoplie de mélodies, atmosphères, jeux de guitares et batterie différents ainsi qu’une palette vocale impressionnante. Le contraste est particulièrement saisissant entre les titres 2 et 3 : l’infernal "Sleep Deprivation" s’ouvre sur les riffs abrasifs d’une Les Paul Gibson joué avec un archet, progresse sur une rythmique harcelante et expire dans une pétarade de batterie et guitares endiablées puis laisse place à un "Hey Lou Reed" apaisant qui transporte dans un monde imaginaire sur un chant aigu d’une douceur enjôleuse, un jeu de guitare posé, une batterie effleurée et des échos oniriques. Inspirés par leur son live développé aux cours de leur nombreuses tournées, The Servant délaissent ici l’électronica des précédents opus pour un son plus tendu et dépouillé où les guitares, tantôt légères, tantôt explosives, toujours lumineuses, sont mises à l’honneur. Confirmant son immense talent de songwriter, Dan Black nous propose des compositions originales, des refrains addictifs ("I Wish I Could Stop Wishing For Things") et des paroles intelligentes inspirées par sa vie londonienne, ses manques et ses obsessions. HTDAR, album varié mais cohérent, s’écoute en boucle sans jamais lasser. Une très belle réussite d’un quatuor qui se démarque des autres groupes indé du moment. Chapeau bas !
